Nagarjuna Defends N-Convention Centre Amid Demolition

Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has firmly stated that no land encroachment took place during the construction of his N-Convention Centre, which was recently demolished by Hyderabad authorities. The centre, co-owned by the Telugu actor, was built on patta documented land, and Nagarjuna assured that not even “one cent of land beyond” this was illegally occupied.

In his statement, Nagarjuna referred to a judgment by the Special Court of Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, dated February 24, 2014, which ruled that no encroachment had occurred on the Tummidikunta Lake. He urged his supporters to avoid engaging in speculation or spreading rumors about the situation, emphasizing that the matter is currently under review by the High Court.

The demolition, carried out by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) agency, was part of a larger initiative to eliminate illegal constructions encroaching on water bodies and public lands. Authorities claim that the N-Convention Centre had encroached upon 1.12 acres of the Tummidikunta Lake within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and an additional 2 acres within the lake’s buffer zone.

Nagarjuna expressed his distress over the demolition, asserting that it was done unlawfully and without prior notice. He highlighted that there were existing stay orders and ongoing court cases related to the property, and he issued a public statement to protect his reputation and clarify that no legal violations had occurred on his part.
