Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government on Sunday, accusing it of rampant corruption. Referring to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress coalition, he alleged that they are looting the state’s resources, citing the seizure of large cash amounts linked to illegal mining scams.
“The Soren government has looted Jharkhand. I assure you, once we form the government, we will take strict action against these corrupt individuals. The money that belongs to you will be used for your benefit and your children’s future,” PM Modi stated while addressing a rally in Bokaro.
Modi accused JMM leaders of amassing wealth through illegal sand mining, questioning the source of the seized cash. “Isn’t this your money? Isn’t this money looted from you?” he asked.
He further criticized the previous Congress-led central government, alleging that it provided limited support to Jharkhand from 2004 to 2014, struggling to allocate even Rs 80,000 crore over a decade. He contrasted this with the BJP’s efforts, noting that since 2014, more than Rs 3 lakh crore has been allocated to the state.
Reaffirming the BJP-NDA’s commitment to Jharkhand’s progress, Modi stated, “We created Jharkhand, and we will develop it. Those who opposed the state’s creation will never work for its development.”
Modi also addressed the issues of paper leak mafias and recruitment scams in Jharkhand, claiming the BJP would tackle them. “Our goal is to dismantle the paper leak mafia and recruitment mafia created by JMM-Congress. We will bring every individual responsible to justice,” Modi added.
The upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand are scheduled in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23.
