Amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, thousands of Lebanese citizens are fleeing to Syria in search of safety. India Today’s ground report by Ashraf Wani revealed that over 1 lakh Lebanese have already crossed the border into Syria. The Lebanon-Syria border is relatively easy to cross as citizens of both nations do not require special documentation for border entry.
However, Hezbollah suspects that Syrian refugees entering Lebanon might include Mossad agents, gathering intelligence for Israel. This suspicion has intensified the already tense situation.
On Saturday, Israeli airstrikes led to the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah confirmed his death after Israel announced the killing, following strikes on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, where Nasrallah was reportedly stationed.
The ongoing Israel-Hezbollah conflict is worsening, pushing thousands of Lebanese civilians to seek refuge in Syria, which seems to be a safer option for now.
