Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Trump’s New Strategy: Improving Government Efficiency
Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This department is designed to revamp federal bureaucracy, reduce unnecessary expenses, and restructure federal agencies. Trump believes that Musk and Ramaswamy’s leadership will bring innovative ideas and efficiency to the government.
Elizabeth Warren’s Criticism
Senator Elizabeth Warren quickly mocked the decision, describing the dual leadership as “inefficient.” Posting on X, she wrote, “This step seems ‘highly efficient’.” Additionally, she criticized Trump’s choice of Fox News host Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, arguing that Hegseth lacks the qualifications necessary for the role.
Previous Reform Efforts
This is not the first time a similar department has been created. In the past, President Ronald Reagan launched the Grace Commission with a similar goal. According to Trump, DOGE will “provide guidance from outside the government” without requiring formal approval.
