Tim Walz More Popular Than JD Vance: Poll

A new survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center reveals that Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance is less popular than his Democratic counterpart, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. This survey presents crucial information as they prepare for the upcoming vice-presidential debate on October 1.

The poll indicates that negative sentiments towards Vance are significantly more prevalent. About half of registered voters hold a somewhat or very unfavorable view of Vance, while approximately one-quarter express a favorable opinion. In contrast, Walz enjoys a more favorable reception, with around 40% of voters having a positive view and only about 30% expressing negativity.

Walz has demonstrated stronger support across various age groups. Notably, among voters aged 60 and older, Walz garners nearly 50% support, compared to Vance’s 30%.

However, Walz still has room for improvement within key Democratic groups, where he trails behind Harris. Approximately 75% of Black voters view Harris positively, while only about 50% express the same sentiment for Walz. Therefore, Walz’s popularity may continue to evolve as his national profile rises.
