Court Dismisses Siddaramaiah’s Plea, Orders Probe

The Karnataka High Court dismissed a petition filed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday, challenging the legality of the Governor’s decision to prosecute him over alleged irregularities in the MUDA land scam case. The court stated that the Governor can make an independent decision, emphasizing that the prosecution approval “does not suffer from non-application of mind by the Governor.”

The bench highlighted that the facts presented in the plea require investigation before dismissing it. This ruling pertains to the sanction granted by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot to three individuals to file corruption cases against the Chief Minister regarding the land allocated by MUDA to his wife, BM Parvathi.
