During the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, a significant meeting took place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. In this meeting, PM Modi warmly welcomed the India-China border agreement and stated that “peace and stability at the border should be our priority.”

Prime Minister Modi further emphasized that “mutual trust, respect, and sensitivity” should be the foundation of India-China relations. He highlighted that after five years, the two countries’ leaders are holding a formal meeting, which could give new direction to India-China ties.
