Aakhir Tak – In Depth:
Delhi Police seized two Chinese mobile jammers from the prominent shopping center, Palika Bazaar, on Sunday. The shop owner, Ravi Mathur, was arrested for illegally selling the device. According to police, Mathur purchased the jammer from Lajpat Rai Market, intending to resell it at a higher price.
Mobile jammers are devices that block cellular communication within a specific area, preventing phones from connecting to networks for calls, texts, or data services. The recovered jammers have a range of 50 meters, according to the police.
Government regulations prohibit the sale of mobile jammers, and dealers must possess a license and the necessary documentation. Mathur failed to provide any such documents, leading to his arrest.
The Delhi Police have also informed the Telecommunications Department, and an investigation is underway in other markets in the city. Police are on high alert, especially following the recent blast in the Rohini area.
