Delhi Police’s Special Cell has busted another major drug trafficking network, seizing 200 kg of cocaine valued at ₹2,000 crore from a warehouse in the Ramesh Nagar area. This is the second major drug seizure in Delhi this week.
According to police, the drug syndicate was exposed after authorities tracked the location of the car used to transport the cocaine through its GPS. The police then raided the warehouse and seized the drugs.
Initial reports indicate that the individual responsible for bringing the cocaine to the national capital has fled to London. The recent seizure is believed to be linked to a previous case in which 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana were confiscated from a godown in Mahipalpur on October 2. The estimated value of that bust was ₹5,620 crore.
In connection with the earlier seizure, four individuals—Tushar Goyal (40), Himanshu Kumar (27), Aurangzeb Siddiqui (23), and Bharat Kumar Jain (48)—were arrested on the spot, while two others were later apprehended from Amritsar and Chennai.
Another person, Akhlak, was arrested earlier today from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Police say Akhlak was involved in drug transportation across northern India.
Delhi Police have issued a lookout circular (LOC) for Indian-origin Dubai-based businessman Virender Basoya, who is believed to be involved in the ₹5,620 crore drug cartel.
