In a shocking case of road rage, a 27-year-old man named Akash Maine was beaten to death in Mumbai’s Malad area on Saturday, October 12. Akash was out with his parents on Dussehra to purchase a new car when an auto-rickshaw overtook their vehicle near the Malad railway station, triggering an argument.
The situation escalated when a heated verbal dispute between Akash and the auto-rickshaw driver turned violent. The auto driver, along with several others, attacked Akash, inflicting serious injuries. A video circulating on social media shows Akash’s mother trying to shield him from the attackers, while his father pleads for mercy.
The police have registered a murder case against the auto-rickshaw driver and three others under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). A total of 9 people have been arrested in connection with the incident. The investigation into the case is still ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge.
