Aakhir Tak – In Depth:
Mumbai Police on Wednesday detained a teenager from Chhattisgarh for allegedly issuing hoax bomb threat calls to three flights. According to police, they received complaints about bomb threats on some flights via social media posts. During the investigation, it was found that a minor boy from Chhattisgarh was behind these posts. The boy was detained and handed over to the Juvenile Justice Board after notifying his parents.
Initial investigations revealed that there was a dispute over money between the boy and his friend, which led the boy to make threatening posts using his friend’s photo. Currently, the police are investigating if this case is related to other recent hoax bomb threats targeting flights.
In the last three days, nearly a dozen Indian flights, both domestic and international, have received hoax bomb threats. Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu stated that he was closely monitoring the situation and ensuring strict action against such acts. He said, “Mumbai Police has detained a minor responsible for issuing bomb threats targeting three flights. All others involved in the disruptions will be identified and prosecuted.”
