Aakhir Tak – In Depth
U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted children for their final Halloween celebration on the South Lawn of the White House on Wednesday. Jill Biden, dressed as a giant panda, aimed to welcome the pandas that recently returned to the National Zoo in Washington, marking a symbolic gesture for the occasion.
In October, the First Lady had celebrated the pandas’ arrival and organized this year’s Halloween event, dubbed “Hallo-Read,” to foster reading among kids. Utilizing her 40 years of teaching experience, she read a short story about “spooky pumpkins” to the children before festivities began.
As dusk fell, President Biden in a suit handed out boxes of White House Hershey’s Kisses to children while Jill gave copies of the “10 Spooky Pumpkins” book. Around 8,000 people, including military-connected families, were anticipated to attend. Decorations at the White House featured a large orange moon, cardboard cutouts of the family’s cat, Willow, stacks of books, and giant pumpkin figures adorning the entrance.
