Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who planned the October 7 attack on Israel, was hiding in a well-equipped bunker located in Khan Younis, Gaza. A video released by Israeli officials showcases the bunker, revealing UN food supplies, large amounts of cash, perfume, and other personal facilities. This video, believed to be from February, shows an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier walking through what appears to be a residential building, showcasing the stockpiles of supplies and aid distributed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
According to the video, Sinwar spent the early days of the war in this bunker before fleeing to Rafah. On October 16, Sinwar was killed in an Israeli military operation, with Israel calling him the mastermind of the attack. The video also includes criticism from Israeli officials, accusing Sinwar of hiding in the bunker while using Gaza’s civilians as human shields. The video was shared by Israel’s Foreign Ministry, along with top officials like David Saranga, Director of the Digital Diplomacy Bureau.
A subsequent video, released by the Israeli Army, shows Yahya Sinwar walking through a bunker a day before the October 7 attack, accompanied by his family. In this footage, Sinwar’s wife is seen carrying a luxury handbag valued at $32,000 while entering the tunnel.
