Jeff Bezos described the Washington Post’s choice to halt presidential endorsements as a move to increase its credibility. Prior to this, the Washington Post had been set to endorse Kamala Harris, but Bezos overruled this, emphasizing neutrality. Allegations of business interests influencing this decision surfaced, especially after Trump met with executives from Bezos’s company Blue Origin. Bezos firmly denied any quid pro quo, clarifying that neither campaign was involved in the decision. He expressed concern over dwindling public trust in American media, citing the rise in popularity of unverified sources that deepen social divides.
