Vistara-Air India Merger: Flight Bookings End Soon

The much-anticipated Vistara Air India merger 2024 is set to finalize on November 12, transforming the aviation landscape in India. Starting September 3, 2024, customers will no longer be able to book Vistara flights for travel on or after November 12, 2024, as these bookings will be redirected to Air India’s website.

Vistara will continue its regular flight operations until November 11, 2024. However, all flights from November 12 onwards will be operated under the Air India brand, marking the end of Vistara as a separate entity. This decision follows the Indian government’s approval of Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) foreign direct investment (FDI) as part of the merger process.

To ensure smooth communication during this transition, both airlines have prepared FAQs on Vistara’s website, providing guidance and support to customers. This merger, initially announced in November 2022, aims to create one of the largest airline groups globally, combining the strengths of two leading players in the aviation industry. With the Indian government’s green light, Singapore Airlines will acquire a 25.1 percent stake in the newly expanded Air India, owned by Tata Group. Vistara, currently a 51:49 joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, will be fully integrated into Air India by the end of the year.
