Another Terrorist Attack in Jammu and Kashmir

On Thursday evening, terrorists abducted and killed two Village Defense Group (VDG) members in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The victims were identified as Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, both residents of Ohli Kuntwara village. “Kashmir Tigers,” an offshoot of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for this attack. The terror group also shared images of the victims, with their eyes blindfolded.

Incident Details

According to officials, the deceased were taken while they were out grazing cattle in the forest. Kuldeep’s brother Prithvi told PTI, “We received information that my brother and Ahmed were abducted and killed by terrorists. They were VDG members and had gone to graze cattle, as usual.”

Police Launches Search Operation

Police have initiated a large-scale search operation to locate the bodies. However, no bodies have been recovered yet. The incident has spread fear among the locals, and the administration has tightened security in the region.

Political Reactions

Condemning the brutal killings, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted, “No words are strong enough to condemn the heinous terrorist attack on VDG members in Kishtwar. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave sons martyred in this cowardly attack. We are committed to destroying all terror outfits and avenging this barbaric act.”

The National Conference, led by Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah, also condemned the killings. They noted that “such acts of barbaric violence remain a significant impediment in achieving long-lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Additional Encounters

Meanwhile, anti-terror operations led to encounters in the Baramulla and Sopore districts on Thursday, where police and security forces engaged with active terrorists.
