Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Vikash Yadav, who is wanted by the US for plotting the murder of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, was arrested 10 months ago by the Special Cell of Delhi Police in connection with an attempted murder and extortion case. The case gained further attention recently after the US Department of Justice named Yadav as “CC-1” (co-conspirator) in a murder-for-hire case involving Pannun.
The case came to light when a Delhi-based businessman lodged a complaint in December 2023, claiming that he had been kidnapped and assaulted by Yadav and another individual. The businessman, who runs an IT company, said he had met Yadav in November through an acquaintance who introduced him as a senior government official. Yadav told the businessman he was an undercover agent but never disclosed any details about his work.
According to the businessman, Yadav lured him to a location under the pretense of discussing an important issue, only to abduct him. The businessman was taken to a flat, where Yadav allegedly revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi had given him a contract to kill him. Yadav and his accomplice assaulted the businessman and robbed him of his gold jewelry and cash.
Following the businessman’s complaint, Delhi Police arrested Yadav and his accomplice and charged them with kidnapping, conspiracy, and attempted murder. During the interrogation, Yadav admitted to targeting the businessman for financial gain. Recently, US prosecutors charged Yadav with murder-for-hire and money laundering, identifying him as a former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer. The Indian government clarified that Yadav is no longer employed by any Indian agency.
