Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US presidential election, briefly took on the role of a fry cook at a McDonald’s outlet in Pennsylvania on Sunday. During his visit, he humorously remarked that he had “worked 15 minutes more than Kamala,” in reference to his Democratic rival Kamala Harris’s claims of a “middle-class background.”
Trump took off his suit jacket, donned a black and yellow apron, and cooked batches of french fries under the guidance of employees. He jokingly mentioned that it was something he had “wanted to do all my life.” Harris has frequently referenced her time working at McDonald’s during her college years in California in the 1980s. However, Trump has repeatedly claimed that Harris never worked at the fast-food chain.
“It was a big part of her resume that she worked at McDonald’s — how tough a job it was,” Trump said at the restaurant. “She made the french fries, and she talked about the heat: ‘It was so tough.’ She’s never worked at McDonald’s.” He added, “I’ve now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala.”
When a reporter asked what message he had for Harris on her 60th birthday, Trump responded, “I would say, ‘Happy Birthday, Kamala,’” and added, “I think I’ll get her some flowers.”
A large crowd gathered outside the outlet located in Bucks County, a crucial swing voter region just north of Philadelphia. Trump also interacted with customers through the drive-thru window and engaged with McDonald’s staff.
“Look at the crowd over here. They are so happy because they have hope. They need hope,” he remarked. Billionaire businessman Donald Trump called his frying station work “awesome,” sharing a video of the former President. Last month, during a campaign event in Indiana, Trump said, “I want to work as a fry cook to see how it is,” referencing Harris’ past job.
As election day on November 5 approaches, both candidates are making frequent stops in Pennsylvania, recognizing the state’s importance for securing a victory. Reports indicate that both Republicans and Democrats are pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the state.
