The Modi-led Central government maintains zero tolerance for terrorism. This statement came in response to a supplementary question from Congress MP Pramod Tiwari. The minister assured the House that recent terrorist activities in the region will soon be eradicated.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Rai emphasized the Modi government’s zero tolerance policy towards terrorism. He assured that terrorists will be either jailed or eliminated. Recent Terrorist Activities

The minister mentioned that in the past few days, 28 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir. Unfortunately, some security personnel have also lost their lives. Despite these incidents, Rai reassured that the terrorists’ designs will not succeed. The government is determined to end terrorism and ensure the safety of citizens.

Comparative Statistics

Rai provided statistics to highlight the reduction in terrorist incidents since the BJP came to power in 2014. Between 2004-2014, there were 7,217 incidents of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. This number reduced to 2,259 from 2014 to July 2023. Additionally, the number of citizens and security personnel losing their lives has decreased by 67% since 2014. There is also a 69% reduction in terror incidents.

In conclusion, the Modi government’s zero tolerance policy towards terrorism is evident in the significant reduction in terrorist incidents and casualties in Jammu and Kashmir. The government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of citizens. Terrorists will either be jailed or eliminated, as the government continues its efforts to eradicate terrorism from the region.
