Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called on the global Muslim community to support the people of Lebanon on Saturday. This appeal came after Israeli airstrikes targeted Hezbollah leader Nasrallah. Khamenei stated, “It is essential to confront Israel’s usurping and oppressive regime.”
He urged all Muslims to support Hezbollah with whatever means they possess. Khamenei emphasized, “Let the Zionist criminals know they cannot cause significant damage to Hezbollah’s strong structure.” He remarked that Israel has not learned from its previous year-long war in Gaza.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khamenei highlighted, “The massacre of women, children, and civilians cannot break the strong structure of Resistance.” He called on all Resistance forces in the region to stand in solidarity with Hezbollah.
The Israeli military claimed on Saturday that they had “eliminated” Nasrallah after attacking Hezbollah’s command center in Beirut. This operation targeted the location where the 64-year-old cleric was reportedly hiding in a bunker.
Israeli airstrikes wreaked havoc in Beirut’s southern suburbs, with multiple buildings being destroyed. Reports indicate that four buildings collapsed due to powerful blasts, leaving large craters and damaging surrounding structures.
