In her heartfelt statement, Shreya Ghoshal emphasized her solidarity with the protestors, stating, “With an aching heart and deep sorrow, my promoters (Ishq FM) and I have decided to reschedule our concert. This decision reflects our commitment to standing united against the atrocities that women face.”
Shreya reassured her fans that the current tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled date and expressed her hope for understanding and continued support from her audience. “I pray for the respect and safety of women, not just in our country, but worldwide,” she added, emphasizing the importance of standing together during such times.
The decision to postpone the concert comes as Kolkata witnesses widespread protests against the RG Kar incident, where a 31-year-old trainee doctor was brutally raped and murdered, sparking national outrage. The city’s citizens have been vocal in demanding justice and stricter safety measures for women, with many public figures, including Shreya, voicing their support.
