Why Sarabjot Singh Rejected Haryana Government Job
India’s celebrated shooting star, Sarabjot Singh, has made headlines once again, this time for his decision to reject a government job offered by the Haryana government. Sarabjot, who, alongside Manu Bhaker, clinched a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024, is focused on his future goals rather than a government position.
Despite his remarkable performance and the acclaim he received, Sarabjot has opted to turn down the job offer. The Haryana government extended this opportunity as a token of appreciation for his achievement. However, Sarabjot has decided to prioritize his shooting career over the job offer.
In a statement to reporters, Sarabjot explained his decision, stating, “The job is good, but I will not take it right now. I want to focus on my shooting first.” He further emphasized, “My family has also been asking me to get a decent job, but I want to pursue shooting. I don’t want to go against the decisions that I have made, so I cannot take a job right now.”
Sarabjot’s Future Ambitions
Sarabjot Singh’s commitment to his sport is evident in his future aspirations. During an exclusive interview with India Today, Sarabjot revealed his long-term goal: winning gold at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. “I am yet to achieve my main goal. Hopefully, I will complete my main goal in 2028. I used to write in my personal diary that I will give my personal best in Paris. However, I am yet to give my personal best. I want to shoot for gold in 2028,” he shared.
Sarabjot’s dedication and focus reflect his determination to excel in his sport. By rejecting the job offer, he is making it clear that his commitment to shooting remains his top priority as he aims for Olympic gold in the future.
