Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Sanjay Raut Responds to PM Modi’s “Ek Hai Toh Safe Hai” Slogan in Maharashtra
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent slogan “Ek Hai Toh Safe Hai” (We are safe if we are united) on Saturday. Raut stated that this slogan undermines Maharashtra’s actual state of safety and attempts to create division. He argued that the Prime Minister’s remarks were aimed at stoking unrest and further dividing the people of the state.
Raut questioned Modi’s use of such language, saying, “I don’t understand why the Prime Minister is using such phrases. After the failure of the earlier slogan ‘Batenge Toh Katenge,’ he has now come up with this new one. People are already safe in Maharashtra, but every time Modi visits, the state becomes unsafe as he instigates divisions and unrest. To ensure true safety, we need to remove the BJP.”
On Friday, PM Modi accused Congress and its allies of promoting caste divisions, claiming their sole agenda was to make one caste fight against another. “Congress’ sole agenda is to pit one caste against another. They do not want SCs, STs, and OBCs to progress and receive their rightful recognition. Remember, ‘Ek Hai Toh Safe Hai,’” Modi said at a poll rally in Dhule, his first for the November 20 Maharashtra assembly elections.
Raut, on the other hand, stressed that Maharashtra is already a safe state and Modi’s comments are only contributing to insecurity. He emphasized that Maharashtra’s peaceful environment should not be disturbed by such divisive rhetoric.
This issue has sparked a strong reaction from both Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders, who fear that such statements could increase communal tension in the state, destabilizing the peace.
