Samit Dravid Joins India U19 Team

Samit Dravid, son of the legendary Indian cricketer and former head coach Rahul Dravid, has earned his first call-up to the India U19 team. He is set to participate in the multi-format series against Australia U19, marking a significant step in his young cricketing career. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squads for the upcoming series, which includes both red-ball and white-ball formats.

The 18-year-old cricketer, recently seen playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy for the Mysuru Warriors, did not have a memorable performance in the tournament. He scored 82 runs from seven innings, averaging 11.71 with a strike rate of 113.88. His highest score, 33 off 24 balls, came against Gulbarga Mystics, featuring four boundaries and a six.

Apart from Samit, Uttar Pradesh’s Mohamed Amaan will captain the One-Day squad, while Soham Patwardhan will lead the four-day matches. The India U19 team will face Australia U19 in three 50-over games scheduled for September 21, 23, and 26 in Puducherry. Following the one-day series, two four-day matches will be played in Chennai, starting on September 30.
