RJD Leader Pankaj Yadav Shot by Bike-Borne Assailants in Bihar’s Munger
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and state general secretary Pankaj Yadav was shot on Thursday morning in Munger, Bihar. Two bike-borne assailants targeted him while he was on his routine morning walk near the airport.
Former RJD MLA Vijay Kumar, speaking about the incident, said that Pankaj Yadav went for a morning walk daily. The assailants chased him for nearly a kilometer before shooting at him several times. Although Yadav managed to escape, one bullet struck him in the chest, after which he was rushed to the hospital.
Pankaj Yadav recounted, “I was walking in the field when the assailants came and shot at me. After that, I lost consciousness.”
A senior police officer stated that one of the accused has a criminal background, and further information is being gathered regarding his connections.
RJD leader Ejaz Ahmad commented on the incident, saying, “Is this good governance? Opposition leaders are being shot at. The situation in Bihar is now similar to Uttar Pradesh. Crime and criminals are ruling in Bihar. It’s evident that the government’s credibility has collapsed. Criminals are thriving, and the administration is in disarray.”
The bullet has been removed, and Pankaj Yadav’s condition is reported to be stable.
Notably, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
