Punjab Police Seizes 105 Kg Heroin, Major Drug Bust

Punjab Police seized 105 kg of heroin in one of the state’s largest drug busts. Two suspects, Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar, linked to an international drug trafficker, were arrested in the operation. Punjab’s DGP, Gaurav Yadav, termed it the biggest heroin seizure in the state.

In a historic anti-drug operation, Punjab Police seized 105 kg of heroin. The intelligence-led operation led to the arrest of Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar, both connected to a foreign-based drug smuggler. According to the police, the contraband was transported via waterways from Pakistan. During the raid, authorities also found large rubber tubes, suggesting that the smugglers utilized water routes for transport.

In addition to 105 kg of heroin, police recovered 31.93 kg of caffeine anhydrous, 17 kg of DMR, five foreign-made pistols, and a locally manufactured firearm. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared details on his official X handle, describing it as the largest heroin seizure in Punjab. The operation marks a significant success for the police, potentially weakening foreign smuggling networks. An FIR has been filed, and investigations are ongoing to trace further connections within the drug cartel.
