Puja Khedkar Not From OBC Category: Delhi Police Report Reveals More

Puja Khedkar allegedly misrepresented her identity to gain OBC category benefits in her UPSC application. The UPSC has since canceled her candidature and barred her from future exams. Investigations revealed that Khedkar had falsely claimed her parents were legally separated to obtain reservation benefits. In reality, her parents were not separated and lived together.
Call data records of Khedkar and her family confirm that her parents maintained constant contact and were frequently in the same location. Additionally, Khedkar’s application to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) stated she lived with both parents in Pune, contradicting her claim in the UPSC application that her parents were divorced and she lived with her mother.
Khedkar’s father, Dilip Khedkar, who retired as director of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board in 2023, did not disclose any separation or divorce to his employer.

The Delhi Police argue that Khedkar’s anticipatory bail could hinder the investigation by enabling her to create a consistent narrative or manipulate evidence. The police report emphasizes that the case involves the misuse of reserved category benefits and directly impacts the examination process’s integrity.
