Parsvnath CEO Sanjeev Jain Arrested After 60 km Chase
On Saturday, Sanjeev Jain, the Managing Director and CEO of Parsvnath Developers, was apprehended at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Jain’s arrest followed a dramatic 60-kilometer chase by the Delhi Police Special Task Force (STF). This incident highlights the ongoing legal troubles facing the prominent real estate executive.
Arrest Details
The arrest occurred after Jain reportedly attempted to evade capture, leading to a high-speed chase across Delhi. The STF team from Shahdara eventually cornered Jain at the airport. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara), Surendra Choudhary, Jain was arrested under non-bailable warrants issued due to his failure to attend hearings at the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC).
Background of the Case
Jain’s legal troubles date back to 2017 when a complaint was filed against him by Rajat Babbar and another party. The NCDRC issued a non-bailable warrant against Jain on July 18, prompting the recent arrest. At the time of his arrest, Jain had multiple warrants outstanding, including four non-bailable and one bailable warrant at Shahdara Police Station.
Legal Proceedings
Following his arrest, Jain was presented before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on Sunday. The ongoing legal proceedings will determine the future course of action and potential penalties for Jain.
This arrest underscores the serious nature of the legal challenges facing high-profile business executives and highlights the relentless efforts of law enforcement in pursuing justice.
