Aakhir Tak – In Depth
A 33-year-old woman from New York has travelled to Pakistan to meet and allegedly marry her teenage ‘lover’ she met online. However, the relationship was reportedly rejected by the young man’s parents. The US woman is now demanding $100,000 from the Pakistani government. This unusual situation has captured international attention.
Onijah Andrew Robinson arrived in Pakistan with the stated intention of marrying 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon. But, Memon’s parents reportedly disapproved of the relationship, causing the family to flee their home, according to the Daily Mail. The parents’ disapproval has added another layer of complexity to the situation.
Following the family’s departure, Robinson held a series of impromptu press conferences, outlining a self-proclaimed “bold new vision” for Pakistan. Footage of her press meets where she asserts that is going to ‘reconstruct’ Pakistan has gone viral. Her pronouncements have drawn widespread skepticism and amusement.
“My plan is to rebuild this entire country,” Robinson declared. “I’m asking for $100k, and I need $20k in cash by the end of this week. That’s my demand to the government,” she was seen telling journalists. Her demands have been met with disbelief and criticism.
She added, “The government needs to fix these streets… it’s ridiculous here, I don’t like it. You all need to understand that Pakistan needs new buses, taxis, and cars”. Her comments about Pakistan have stirred controversy.
In another interview, Robinson, who is said to be a mother of four, claimed, “Make sure you get this on your camera, I’m married and we are moving to Dubai very soon. We’re going to have our baby in Dubai”. Her marital status and future plans have raised further questions. The Pakistani lover seems to be out of the picture.
According to reports, she allegedly refused offers of flights back to the United States. A man identifying himself as her son, Jeremiah Robinson, has stated that his mother suffers from “mental bipolar disorder” and that the family is working to bring her home. Her mental health has become a central concern.
It remains unclear whether Robinson has returned to the United States. Pakistani authorities have not yet publicly commented on the matter. The silence from officials has fueled speculation.
