A distressing incident involving the abduction and sexual assault of a nursing student has come to light in Theni district, Tamil Nadu. According to police reports, this shocking case emerged on Monday when the student was found at Dindigul railway station. She revealed to the authorities that she had been abducted nearly 50 kilometers away and assaulted by a gang.
The second-year nursing student had started her journey from her hometown via bus. During her travels, she contacted her father, informing him that a woman dressed in black was following her. Shortly after this alarming call, her phone became unreachable, leading her father to file a report at the Theni police station.
Upon reaching Dindigul railway station, the student recounted her harrowing experience to the police. She stated that she had been kidnapped approximately 50 kilometers from the station and subjected to sexual assault by the gang. She was promptly taken to a government hospital for treatment.
District Superintendent of Police Pradeep visited the hospital to investigate the matter. However, police faced challenges in questioning the student as she reportedly suffered an epileptic seizure during the interrogation.
The All Women Police have registered a case under two sections of the Indian Penal Code and initiated a thorough investigation. This incident has raised significant concerns about safety in the area, sparking anxiety within the community.
