Nivin Pauly Denies Sexual Assault Allegations, Calls It a Conspiracy
Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly recently faced severe allegations when he was named as the sixth accused in a sexual assault complaint filed by a woman. He held a press conference on September 3, calling the accusations a conspiracy intended to defame him. Pauly firmly stated that he would fight these charges legally to prove his innocence.
Speaking at the press conference, Pauly emphasized, “An FIR has been registered against me, but I am determined to prove my innocence. Such fake allegations can ruin anyone’s life, and I speak not just for myself but for all those who may face similar accusations.”
Pauly further explained his interactions with the authorities. About one and a half months ago, he received a call from a police officer informing him about a similar complaint. He clarified to the officer that he did not know the complainant, and at that time, it was considered a fake case. Pauly added, “I am yet to read the new FIR.”
He also denied knowing the woman who filed the complaint, although he admitted that he knew one of the people mentioned in the FIR. According to the complaint, the incident occurred in Dubai in November 2023. Pauly narrated that during a meeting at Dubai Mall, he was introduced to a man involved in the funding of a film, and he does not recall meeting the complainant.
The case against Pauly and five others, including film industry professionals like producers and directors, has been registered in Kerala’s Ernakulam. The complaint has sparked controversy in the Malayalam film industry, especially following the release of the Hema Committee report, which exposed widespread sexual harassment and exploitation in the industry.
The accusations against Nivin Pauly have sent shockwaves through the industry, which has already been grappling with allegations against other prominent figures. Pauly remains steadfast in his resolve, stating that he will pursue all legal avenues to clear his name.
