The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched raids at seven locations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district linked to the terrorist attack on a pilgrims’ bus on June 9. These locations are associated with hybrid terrorists and Over-Ground Workers (OGWs).
Officials stated that multiple teams from the NIA have been conducting searches in the Rajouri and Reasi districts since this morning. On June 9, a bus transporting pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine fell into a gorge following a terrorist attack, resulting in at least 10 deaths and nearly three dozen injuries.
The incident occurred around 6:10 PM when the bus, en route to the Shiv Khori temple, was ambushed in Teryath village. According to officials, the driver was injured, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Authorities have detained 50 individuals in connection with the attack.
On June 17, the Ministry of Home Affairs transferred the case to the NIA. The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, initially claimed responsibility for the attack but later retracted its statement.
So far, Hakam Khan from Rajouri has been arrested for allegedly providing food, shelter, and logistics to the terrorists and aiding in reconnaissance before the attack. NIA teams have initiated searches since this morning, with further details expected to emerge.
Earlier, on June 30, the agency raided five locations associated with hybrid terrorists and their overground operatives in Rajouri.
