A complaint has been lodged against actor Nagarjuna Akkineni at the Madhapur police station in Hyderabad, accusing him of illegal land encroachment. The complaint was filed by Kasireddy Bhaskara Reddy, President of the Janam Kosam Manasakshi Foundation, who alleged that Nagarjuna illegally constructed the N Convention Centre, which was demolished in August during a drive to remove illegal constructions on public land and water bodies.
The land in question reportedly falls within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Thammidikunta Lake. Reddy further claimed that Nagarjuna has been earning significant illegal revenue from this encroached land for several years and called for strict legal action, including the actor’s arrest, for these alleged violations.
The N Convention Centre, which was a popular venue for weddings and corporate events, was demolished on August 24 by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) agency. The demolition was part of an ongoing drive to remove illegal structures on public land and water bodies.
The convention center, which spanned 10 acres, was found to have encroached on 1.12 acres within the FTL and an additional 2 acres in the buffer zone of the lake. The demolition took place after it was confirmed that the construction violated several land-use and environmental regulations.
Nagarjuna has previously described the demolition as “unlawful,” stating that it violated stay orders and was carried out without prior notice. He also clarified that the land is privately owned and does not encroach on any tank plan.
