Mahayuti Will Win 2024 Maharashtra Polls, BJP in 2029: Amit Shah
Addressing BJP workers in Mumbai, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed confidence that the NDA-led Mahayuti alliance would win the Maharashtra Assembly polls in 2024. He stated that the party aims to secure over 50 percent of the seats in the Mumbai and Konkan regions.
Shah also asserted that the BJP would win the 2029 Assembly polls independently. Furthermore, he indicated that the party plans to enforce the Uniform Civil Code in Maharashtra if they win the elections.
Highlighting Mumbai as a key battleground, he mentioned that they aim to “teach a lesson” to rival parties, particularly the Shiv Sena (UBT). He emphasized the need for the party to concentrate on booths to boost voter turnout.
Shah directed local leaders to appoint ten workers for every polling booth, who should remain active from Dussehra (October 12) to the last day of campaigning. He reviewed the BJP’s preparedness in Mumbai, Thane, and Konkan divisions ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls.
He advised party workers to resolve their differences before the elections, stating, “There are differences of opinion even in a family. If there is disappointment about an MLA or Member of Parliament, an amicable solution should be found to keep voters with the party.”
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and BJP’s Mumbai unit head Ashish Shelar were also present during the meeting.
