Key Details of Jagdish Uikey’s Arrest and Case
Jagdish Uikey, a 35-year-old writer from Nagpur, Maharashtra, was arrested for allegedly spreading panic nationwide by sending hoax bomb threats. Uikey reportedly sent over 100 threats via emails and calls to the Prime Minister’s Office, senior government officials, and various airlines. Nagpur Police DCP Lohit Matani mentioned that Uikey is known for writing a book on terrorism, available on Amazon. The police seized his mobile and laptop, which were allegedly used to send the threatening messages.
Since January, Uikey is said to have sent numerous emails warning of bomb placements in various locations. Between October 25 and October 30, he threatened blasts at 30 sites, targeting political leaders and government officials like Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Authorities tracked him down using his IP address, but so far, no links to any terrorist organization have been discovered.
