Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 on Sunday, November 10, in Mumbai. Shah presented the manifesto in the presence of senior party leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
The manifesto committee chairman and senior minister Sudhir Mungantiwar emphasized the BJP’s dedication to Maharashtra’s growth, underscoring the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) rise under the Mahayuti government. Mungantiwar stated, “This manifesto is dedicated to the people of Maharashtra. Under our leadership, road infrastructure has been enhanced, adding more highways to improve connectivity across the state.”
Aligning with BJP’s vision of a five trillion-dollar economy, the manifesto presents a plan that includes the “Ladki Behen Yojana,” aimed at supporting women, and “Mission Olympics 36,” to promote sports development in the state. Amit Shah highlighted that the manifesto captures the aspirations of the people of Maharashtra, noting, “Maharashtra has always led the way for an independent India and social reforms, and these aspirations are embodied in the manifesto.”
Shah emphasized the BJP’s commitment to a secure and prosperous Maharashtra, announcing that BJP’s true contest lies with the MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) alliance. He also posed a pointed question to Uddhav Thackeray, challenging him to get Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to positively acknowledge Veer Savarkar.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also shared insights on the “Ladki Behen Yojana” and the “Bhavantar Yojana,” which supports farmers with better-priced inputs and direct fund transfers post-election. Additionally, the manifesto includes plans for affordable life-saving drugs and aims to create 2.5 million jobs through state-backed initiatives.
The Congress released its manifesto on November 6. Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held on November 20, and the vote counting for all 288 constituencies will be conducted on November 23.
