A Delhi court granted bail to RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav in a land-for-jobs case. This case dates back to when Lalu was the Union Railway Minister. Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted bail to them on bonds of Rs 1 lakh each on Monday, noting that they were not arrested during the investigation of the case.
The accused appeared before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court after a summons was issued to them, based on a supplementary chargesheet against them. The final report was filed before the court by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 6.
The court also directed all three accused to surrender their passports and postponed the next hearing to October 25. Lalu Prasad Yadav, who served as the Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009, was accused of recruiting individuals for Group-D jobs in the West Central Zone of the railways, located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on the condition that they gift or transfer parcels of land in either his name or in the name of his family or associates.
