2 Terrorists Killed in Encounter in J&K’s Kupwara, Army Finds War-like Stores
Security forces killed two terrorists during an infiltration attempt along the India-Pakistan border in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army reported this operation took place on Saturday, where forces successfully countered the terrorists.
The army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps stated, “Two terrorists have been eliminated by security forces in the ongoing operation.” Additionally, the army noted that war-like stores were found at the encounter site, with searches still underway.
Earlier, security forces indicated that the gun battle erupted when troops detected suspicious activity in the Gugaldhar area. Chinar Corps mentioned, “On October 4, 2024, based on intelligence about an infiltration attempt, a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police was launched at Gugaldhar, Kupwara. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, leading to an exchange of fire with terrorists. Vigilant troops carried out effective fire,” the Chinar Corps stated.
The operation is still ongoing, with security forces remaining on high alert to control the situation.
