Following the incident, the boy’s family reported him missing on March 5 and initiated a search. The next morning, Hussaini, who lived in the same neighborhood as the boy, approached the family and suggested that they check their phones for any messages from the kidnappers. Upon checking, they discovered a ransom demand of ₹10 lakh on the boy’s uncle’s phone.

However, the family soon became suspicious because Hussaini had been absent the night the boy was kidnapped but reappeared the following morning.
