Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Not Country’s Father’ Remark on Mahatma Gandhi Sparks Controversy
Kangana Ranaut’s remarks about Mahatma Gandhi have ignited a fresh controversy. On Gandhi Jayanti, the BJP MP and actor downplayed Mahatma Gandhi’s status as the ‘Father of the Nation’ while paying homage to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.
The Mandi MP posted on Instagram Stories, “The country does not have fathers; it has sons. Blessed are these sons of Mother India.” Her remarks have drawn heavy criticism from political leaders, with Congress leader Supriya Shrinate accusing her of being the BJP’s “new Godse devotee.”
Her statement has also been condemned by BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia, who criticized her for frequently making controversial remarks, stating that these comments create trouble for the party.
Kangana’s controversial statements have often stirred debates, including her previous comments about the farmers’ protest, where she claimed that it was creating a Bangladesh-like situation in the country.
