Aakhir Tak – In Depth Kamala Harris has launched focused efforts to gain ground among male voters as the U.S. presidential elections approach. In a conversation with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Harris admitted that connecting with male voters has been a significant challenge for her campaign.
According to recent New York Times polls, Harris holds a 54% to 42% lead over Donald Trump among women voters, whereas Trump leads among male voters with 55% to Harris’s 41%. To close this gap, Harris’s campaign has rolled out a series of ads targeted at male audiences in key swing states. These ads will air during major sporting events on Sunday and Monday in Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.
In Milwaukee, the ad features Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, who urges locals to remember Trump’s previous criticisms of their city before the Republican National Convention and challenges them to “show him what we’re made of.” In Philadelphia, Harris’s campaign taps into the city’s Revolutionary War legacy and sports pride to appeal to male voters.
In Pittsburgh, a crucial Pennsylvania city, the ad spotlights Chris, a Steelers fan and maintenance worker, who draws a contrast between his working-class life and Trump’s, questioning Trump’s genuine concern for the working class.
To reach male voters, Harris has also engaged in interviews and podcasts with figures popular among male audiences, such as the “All the Smoke” podcast with former NBA players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, and an interview with radio host Charlamagne Tha God.
