Aakhir Tak – In Depth
As the upcoming US presidential election draws near, the race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump has tightened significantly. A recent poll shows Harris ahead of Trump by only one percentage point, with Harris holding 44% and Trump 43% support among voters. While a previous mid-October poll gave Harris a two-point lead, this margin has since narrowed.
The poll surveyed a total of 1,150 U.S. adults, including 975 registered voters. When it comes to the economy and employment, Trump holds a clear advantage, with 47% of voters supporting him over Harris’s 37%. On immigration issues, 48% of voters also favor Trump’s policy over Harris’s 33%.
Harris holds a slight edge on handling political extremism, but this lead is also shrinking. She has focused on linking Trump to the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack as a major campaign issue. Trump, however, has countered, describing Harris’s positions as indicative of a socialist takeover.
To secure victory, both candidates will need to mobilize their supporters, especially in key battleground states where the race remains highly competitive.
