Shots Fired Again at Kamala Harris’s Election Campaign Office in Arizona

Shots have been fired at the election campaign office of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris in Tempe, Arizona. This marks the second such incident in a month after the front windows of the office were shot at with a pellet gun on September 16.

In a statement to NBC News on Tuesday, Tempe Police confirmed the incident occurred the previous night and mentioned “damage from gunfire” was discovered at the Democratic National Committee office. However, no injuries have been reported.

Tempe Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Ryan Cook stated that no one was present in the office during the incident. “This raises concerns about the safety of those working in the building and those nearby,” Cook added, as reported by The New York Post.

Local TV stations aired footage showing two bullet holes in a door and two more in the office’s windows.

An investigation is currently underway, with detectives analyzing evidence gathered from the crime scene.

Police have also implemented additional security measures for employees at the campaign office and nearby areas to ensure safety.

Confirming the incident, Arizona Democratic Party Chairwoman Yolanda Bejarano expressed in a statement, “It is extremely sad that the Arizona Democratic Party has become a target of violence – this is not who we are as Arizonans or Americans,” according to NBC News.

“We are working with law enforcement to ensure this threat is taken seriously and that our staff members are safe at work,” Bejarano added.

The gunfire incident occurs just days before Harris’s scheduled trip to Arizona this Friday, where she is expected to visit the US-Mexico border.

The Tempe office is one of 18 field offices for the Democratic nominee’s campaign in Arizona.

Notably, on September 15, Harris’s Republican rival, Donald Trump, survived a second assassination attempt at his golf club in Florida. The 58-year-old suspect, Democratic supporter Ryan Routh, was arrested shortly afterward.
