Juventus Social Media Hack Leads to False Transfer Announcement of Arda Güler
Juventus, one of Italy’s most iconic football clubs, found itself at the center of a social media controversy after its official X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked. The hackers made a false announcement that Juventus had secured the signing of Real Madrid’s rising star, Arda Güler. This unexpected post caused confusion among fans of both Juventus and Real Madrid. Many were left wondering about the validity of the news, especially since no media outlet had reported any transfer rumors involving Güler and Juventus.
The hack occurred on October 21 on Juventus’s English account, leading to widespread speculation. Fans of the club were left both excited and confused. However, Juventus quickly clarified the situation by releasing an official statement that confirmed their social media account had been hacked and that the announcement was fake.
The false transfer news mentioned Arda Güler, a 19-year-old Turkish football prodigy, who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 after rejecting a move to Barcelona. Güler’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu brought a lot of attention, but his first season was disrupted by injuries. The midfielder managed to make an impact by scoring six goals in just 10 La Liga appearances, but his playing time in the 2023-24 season was severely limited.
Juventus, under the leadership of new manager Thiago Motta, has been performing well in Serie A this season. The club is currently third in the league standings, winning four of their first eight matches. Despite this form, Motta has never shown any interest in signing Güler, adding to the confusion sparked by the hack.
Juventus issued a formal apology to fans, advising them to disregard the misleading posts and reaffirming that they were working to resolve the situation.
This hacking incident reignited interest in Güler’s career, though his future remains firmly with Real Madrid for the foreseeable future. Juventus is now focusing on their upcoming Champions League match against VfB Stuttgart on October 22, as they aim to continue their solid start to the season.
