Aakhir Tak – In Depth
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released updated guidelines for JEE Main 2025 to assist applicants facing name discrepancies between their Aadhaar Card and Class 10 certificates. The first session registration is ongoing and will remain open until November 22, 2024.
To streamline the application process, NTA has introduced an update to help candidates proceed despite minor inconsistencies. Now, if a candidate encounters a pop-up error after selecting “Confirm Name as per Aadhaar,” they can close the pop-up and proceed by entering the name exactly as on their Aadhaar Card. This update allows both names from the Aadhaar and the educational certificate to be recorded, reducing application errors.
This year, JEE Main will be conducted in two phases. The first session is scheduled for January 22-31, 2025, while the second session will be held in April. Additionally, JEE Advanced now allows a maximum of three attempts instead of two, providing candidates with three consecutive years to qualify.
NTA’s move addresses challenges faced by students whose names have minor variations on different documents. This measure is designed to ensure smoother applications and greater inclusivity, reducing the stress of minor discrepancies in name verification for applicants.
