Jaishankar Advocates De-Escalation in Gaza and Diplomacy for Ukraine Conflict

Call for Gaza De-Escalation
Jaishankar stressed the need for de-escalation and restraint in the ongoing Gaza conflict. He highlighted India’s commitment to humanitarian aid, noting a recent contribution of USD 2.5 million to the UNRWA, part of an annual donation of USD 5 million. India’s support includes advocating for a two-state solution and condemning attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
Diplomatic Solutions for Ukraine
Regarding the Ukraine conflict, Jaishankar reaffirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy. He mentioned recent interactions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin, as well as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. India continues to support peaceful resolutions through negotiations, underscoring the importance of diplomacy over military solutions.

Jaishankar’s address also covered the significance of the East Asia Summit (EAS) process, highlighting India’s commitment to fostering regional peace and stability. He emphasized the role of open maritime communication for the Indo-Pacific’s security.
