We Will Win: Benjamin Netanyahu Says as Israel Battles Hamas, Hezbollah
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured his troops that Israel “will win” as it battles militants in both the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, while preparing for a potential strike on Iran. This statement comes nearly a year after the unprecedented attack by Palestinian Hamas militants, which ignited the ongoing Gaza war.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel’s military has “completely transformed reality” in the year since Hamas’s October 7 attack. Speaking to soldiers, he said, “We will win,” as Israel continues to fight both Hamas and Hezbollah militants on multiple fronts.
Israel’s Army Chief, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, declared that “we have defeated Hamas’s military wing.” Netanyahu had vowed to “crush and destroy” militants when the fighting began. However, troops reentered Gaza, only to find that militants had regrouped in several areas previously cleared.
By late September, Israel shifted its focus northward, intensifying military operations against Iran-backed Hezbollah, which had been firing rockets across the Lebanon border in support of Hamas.
