Aakhir Tak – In Depth
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged officials on Sunday to consider a measured approach to demonstrate Iran’s strength to Israel. He stated that Israel’s “evil actions” from two nights ago should neither be exaggerated nor dismissed, as reported by Iran’s IRNA news agency. Khamenei emphasized that any response should be in line with Iran’s public interest and security.
Following the Israeli airstrike on Iran’s military sites, including missile production facilities, Iran downplayed the damage, describing it as minor. Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden called for restraint to avoid further escalation, noting that heightened conflict in the Middle East could have widespread repercussions.
Khamenei’s comments point to a strategy of careful response, balancing restraint with the need to project national strength. As Iranian authorities deliberate, the challenge lies in signaling resolve while ensuring national security remains uncompromised amid regional tensions.
