Isha Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, was honored with the ‘Icon of the Year’ award at Harper’s Bazaar’s Women of the Year Awards 2024. The award was presented to her by celebrated interior designer and entrepreneur Gauri Khan.

In her acceptance speech, Isha Ambani said, “I would like to dedicate this award to my daughter, Aadiya, who inspires me every day to do more and do better.” She also dedicated the award to her mother, Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, stating that her mother is her role model who has “paved the way for me.” Isha expressed, “I always tell her that mom, thank you for walking, so I could run. So really, this is because of her.”

A visionary entrepreneur and advocate for sustainability, Isha Ambani spearheads Reliance Retail and drives its expansion into new categories, geographies, and formats. She has led the expansion of the digital footprint for Reliance Retail, launching new formats such as the e-commerce business Ajio and the online beauty platform Tira.

Influential in the growth of Reliance Retail and Jio Platforms, Isha Ambani has transformed the retail and telecom sectors in India. Under her leadership, Reliance Retail ranks among the Top-10 Retailers in Asia and is the only Indian retailer on the global top 100 list.

Isha Ambani is actively involved in overseeing the vision and impact of Reliance Foundation, engaging deeply with the foundation’s work with children and women.

The award function, held in Mumbai, featured a unique aspect. Each Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year awardee presented the award to the winner of the next category, creating a chain of empowerment.
