An Iraq Airways flight bound for China made an emergency landing in Kolkata on Wednesday night. The flight was traveling from Baghdad to Guangzhou when a passenger suddenly fell ill. There were 100 passengers and 15 crew members on board. The incident occurred just half an hour before the flight was scheduled to land in Guangzhou.
The passenger, Dekan Sameer Ahmed, collapsed inside the aircraft, prompting the flight to divert and make an emergency landing at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at around 10:18 AM. Upon landing, a medical team from the Airport Health Organization (APHO) responded to the situation and discovered that she had no pulse. She was rushed to the nearest hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Following the incident, the flight took off from Kolkata at approximately 1:50 AM, now carrying 97 passengers. This situation has raised concerns among travelers and questions regarding the promptness of medical services on board.
